Who would’ve known that the every day items kept stored away in your cubbard or buried under frozen ice in the deep freezer, could be the solution to a plethora of common lupus systems?

 

 

Items such as salmon, tuna and sardines for arthritis– for those of you who didn’t know, arthritis is nothing more than a disease of inflammation. However, adding a few food items such as fish to your diet could help in calming the inflammation and further arthritis pain.

Items such as zinc, pumpkin seeds and red meat for memory loss– The link between zinc and memory is well studied, especially because zinc deficiency can cause memory loss. But did you know that pumkin seeds and pumpkin seed oils, items rich in zinch, can actually help your brain to form new memories? According to the World’s Healthiest Foods website, 1/4 cup of raw pumpkin seeds contains 2.57 mg of zinc or 17.1 percent of the Recommended Daily Allowance of zinc for healthy adults.

Items such as honey for those of you lupies (including me) who suffer from insomnia– There are many home remedies for insomnia, super-food honey is said to contain the sleep inducing amino acid tryptophan that is useful for overcoming insomnia. Honey also contains omega-3 fatty acids, which research has found reduces fatigue.

Items such fish to help aleviate the stubborn headache– Add fish to your diet and your headache/migraine will thank you! Salmon and tuna alone are great diet additions for beating pain. Fatty fish are also full of anti-inflammatory and omega-3 fatty acids.
