Dear joint pain,
What is there to do when an ongoing chronic pain takes hold of you? What are you to do when the one thing you’re suppose to have control over is no longer listening to you? Do you know what it feels like to be stopped dead in your tracks? Major headaches, achy knees and pain in your lower back?
Do you know how it feels to wake up and feel just as bad as you felt the night before? Do you know what it would mean to go through the day void of the dreaded pillbox marked Monday through Friday? How sweet the day that you can run after your baby boy without your knees giving out on you. How priceless would it be to skip out on the frequent trips to the Rheumatologist? Because quite frankly, I think even he has grown tired of you.
Could you spare just one late night without excruciating pain? A day without early morning stiffness would do too. Living for the day you won’t affect my ankles, knees, elbows and toes, because those are the body parts you tend to love the most. Dear joint pain, save me from the silent cries that only my pillow hears, as I lay there drowning in my own tears.
Dear joint pain, I’m so over you!
